AGB Winds with Gas-Dust Drift in Stellar Evolution Codes

چکیده
A significant fraction of new metals produced in stars enter the interstellar medium form dust grains. Including and wind formation stellar evolution models late-stage low- intermediate-mass provides a way to quantify their contribution cosmic component. In doing so, correct physical description is course required, but also reliable prescription for mass-loss rate. Here, we present an improved model dust-driven winds be used codes insights from recent detailed numerical simulations carbon-star including drift (decoupling gas). We discuss future directions further improvement.

Insight into Agb and Post-agb Stellar Evolution with Fuse
FUSE spectroscopy has proved that extremely hot hydrogen-deficient post-AGB stars (PG1159 stars) display matter on their surface that usually remains hidden in the region between the Hand He-burning shells of the former AGB star. Hence, the spectral analysis of PG1159 stars allows to study directly the chemistry of this intershell region which is the outcome of complicated burning and mixing pr...
متن کاملNon-spherical dust driven winds of slowly rotating AGB stars
We propose a new mechanism to explain an asymmetric mass loss for C-rich asymptotic giant branch (AGB)stars based on the effect how rotation modifies dust driven winds. Even small deviations from spherical symmetry introduced by slow rotations are amplified in the zone of dust condensation due to the non-linear behaviour and the strong temperature and density dependence of the dust formation pr...
متن کامل2D Models for Dust-driven AGB Star Winds
New axisymmetric (2D) models for dust-driven winds of C-stars are presented which include hydrodynamics with radiation pressure on dust, equilibrium chemistry and time-dependent dust formation with coupled grey Monte Carlo radiative transfer. Considering the most simple case without stellar pulsation (hydrostatic inner boundary condition) these models reveal a more complex picture of the dust f...
متن کاملStellar Evolution from AGB to Planetary Nebulae
Planetary nebulae are formed by an interacting winds process where the remnant of the AGB wind is compressed and accelerated by a later-developed fast wind from the central star. One-dimensional dynamical models have successfully explained the multi-shell (bubble, shell, crown, haloes) structures and the kinematics of planetary nebulae. However, the origin of the diverse asymmetric morphology o...
متن کاملThree-component modeling of C-rich AGB star winds III. Micro-physics of drift-dependent dust formation
A proper treatment of the non-equilibrium dust formation process is crucial in models of AGB star winds. In this paper the micro-physics of this process is treated in detail, with an emphasis on the effects of drift (drift models). We summarize the description of the dust formation process and make a few additions to previous work. A detailed study shows that different growth species dominate t...
